ABOUT US
Our mission
We are committed to preserving batik as a living tradition—one that moves beyond ceremony and becomes part of everyday life. Through wearable pieces crafted by local artisans, we bring Kalimantan’s folklore back into the public imagination. Each motif is a visual retelling of ancestral stories, transformed into patterns that honor heritage while embracing contemporary expression.
We also carry a broader hope: that our pieces become meaningful souvenirs—introducing Indonesian culture to the world through batik and the timeless stories that shaped it. Each garment is designed not only to be worn, but to carry a legacy worth sharing.

A tale traced through every pattern.
Our First Story, The Legend of Pesut Mahakam
From the banks of the Mahakam River comes a timeless tale of loss, love, and transformation—an old legend carried through generations in East Kalimantan. Dobelyubi brings this story back to life, translating its spirit into wearable batik motifs designed for today’s lifestyle. This collection doesn’t just present patterns; it channels memory, heritage, and the enduring soul of a story that shaped local culture.
Our debut features three motifs, each capturing a different chapter of the legend:
1. Sihir dari Dapur Sungai (The Magic from the River’s Kitchen)
Inspired by the moment a river hermit prepared food for two starving children—an act that sparked a mystical transformation. Plates, fire, pots, and glasses blend with Kalimantan patterns, symbolizing togetherness, life, change, and purity.
2. Harmoni Leluhur
A portrayal of a Dayak Kenyah couple in traditional attire, their sorrow reflecting the loss of their children. Their clothing carries ancestral values—resilience, unity, and harmony with nature—expressed through symbolic Dayak motifs.
3. Larung Mantra Mahakam
A reimagination of the spell that carried two children into the river’s current, transforming them into Pesut Mahakam. The graceful dolphin form merges with refreshed Kalimantan batik, offering a modern yet culturally rooted interpretation.
Through this first story, we revive a legend not as a memory of the past—but as a cultural narrative woven into pieces you can wear every day.
